About Doctor
Dr. Thomas Alpren founded Ophthalmology Associates in 1982 with the overriding principle of providing state of the art comprehensive eye care in a patient friendly environment. While the practice has grown substantially and healthcare delivery has changed momentously in the ensuing years, he is immensely proud of being part of an organization that is still focused on providing thoughtful, individualized eyecare in a comfortable setting. This is in no small part due to the outstanding ophthalmologists and optometrists who now call Ophthalmology Associates home, as well as the talented and kind support staff who are instrumental in contributing to compassionate patient care.
Dr. Alpren is fellowship trained in corneal surgery and has performed over 15000 ocular surgeries, with a special interest in cataract and corneal disease. He currently enjoys providing comprehensive eyecare ranging from routine examinations to complex diseases including glaucoma, diabetes and macular degeneration.
Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kathy, and visiting his 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He is an avid tennis player and golfer and enjoys birdwatching, hiking the Ice Age Trail and reading.
